The primary goal of the fellowship is to provide advanced training in adult reconstructive surgery with an emphasis on complex problems, including revision total joint replacement with a unique variety of new approaches and techniques that will provide the Fellow with a multifaceted approach to complex reconstructive situations. Fellows work very closely with six different surgeons both in the outpatient and inpatient setting.
Hip (hospital and outpatient surgery center)
- Primary Arthroplasty
- Complex Arthroplasty including treatment of hip dysplasia, and bony deformity
- Direct Anterior Approach for primary and revision arthroplasty, on a standard operating room table and on a specialized traction table
- Posterior Approach for primary and revision arthroplasty
- Direct Lateral approach for primary and revision arthroplasty
- Revision Arthroplasty including treatment of complex acetabular deficiency with custom triflange and cup-cage solutions
Knee (hospital and outpatient surgery center)
- Primary Arthroplasty
- Unicompartmental Arthroplasty
- Patellofemoral Arthroplasty
- Revision Arthroplasty including complex infection management
Conferences
- Weekly preoperative planning
- Weekly reading conferences (articles, case presentations, quarterly M&M)
- Quarterly journal club
- Attendance at one or two national conferences
