The Arthritis Foundation web site gives general information on various types of arthritis. It also offers free brochures on osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. You also can click on links to other sites from this page.The National Osteoporosis Foundation web site explains what osteoporosis is, gives disease statistics, and provides information on bone health. The site also provides information on preventing and treating osteoporosis.
The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases Information Clearinghouse site provides information about various forms of arthritis, rheumatic diseases, bone, muscle, and skin diseases, hip replacements, and knee problems. It also includes links to other sources of information.
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AA0S) is the world's largest medical association of musculoskeletal specialists. It provides education and practice management services to orthopaedic surgeons, serves as an advocate for improved patient care, and informs patients about the science of orthopaedics. The AAOS web site provides up-to-date information on disorders of the body's bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons, as well as a search engine for orthopaedic surgeons belonging to the AAOS.
PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine, provides access to over 12 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources.
